Composite / plastic parts are more than acceptable, however for absolute precision, strength and light weight nothing beats CNC machined parts made out of 7076-T6 aluminium , it ensures that all the holes are absolutely perfect, and allows the caster angles to be exactly the same from one side to the other.
Furthermore, to reduce friction, the uprights have perfectly aligned bearing holes.
